Current outcomes for children and young people in care make sobering reading. By placing these children in loving families, which themselves are well supported, Cornerstone is challenging these trends and giving these children a future.

How It All Began
Cornerstone was launched in 1999 to recruit foster carers to provide loving and stable homes for sibling groups. CARE took over from 2002 until April 2006, when Cornerstone became a charity in its own right.

Today
Cornerstone has a number of foster carers who offer respite breaks and homes to children on a short-term basis, but we specialise in providing ‘Forever Families‘ who care for a child, or a sibling group, beyond their time in care. Children who are placed with our carers are loved and valued as individuals and raised as if they were their natural children.

Many of the children we have placed ‘forever‘ (on a permanent basis) have now been adopted by their foster carers. We support our families throughout the adoption process itself and then continue after the adoption order has been granted.
